Sheriff advises tire chains for all vehicles driving to Orcas ferry landing

Washington State Ferries alert:

Due to the inclement weather the county sheriff’s department is strongly advising anyone driving to the Orcas terminal to have chains on your vehicle.

A motorist has reported that the road to the ferry landing is extremely icy. This morning a truck slid backwards down the hill and blocked the road until a county sand truck could arrive to assist. Only vehicles with chains were allowed to continue past the scene before the county truck arrived.
