OPAL Communty Land Trust announced today that it has acquired Eastsound’s Lavender Hollow Apartments as part of its “family of housing options.”

Ownership of the 22 units on Orion Lane and Enchanted Forest Road in Eastsound transferred to OPAL on May 26. OPAL plans to continue renting the apartments to serve the same very low income household population that has been served by the dwellings for the past 18 years.

The individual apartments will be renovated in the fall to improve energy efficiency.

OPAL’s trustees and executive director Lisa Byers thank Wally Gudgell and his partners “for their commitment to the Orcas community to provide housing for very low income earners as well as their resolve to see the sales process through to completion.”
