Dr. Amy Brook Snider is the next presenter in Orcas Conservatory’s Lecture/Demo Series. “Images of Experience” will be held on Wednesday, March 23 from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Madrona Room; admission is $10.
“In the field of art education, great attention has been paid to child and adolescent development in art,” Snider said. “And although there are often well-attended art classes in our senior centers, community centers and nursing homes, there has been little scholarly interest in the ‘education’ of the elderly self-taught artist. This presentation will look at the work of four specific artists and show how they transformed their life experiences into the powerful imagery in their paintings and drawings.”
