Orcas Island coach Scott Harris said, “It was an honor for our young players to play alongside such an outstanding person as Cara and a great tribute to our team to be recognized with an All-State player. Both our seniors, Cara and Renae Harvey, were outstanding captains, teammates, mentors, and friends to our young team.”

Cara ended the season batting 635 percent and stealing 38 bases, two new Orcas Island High School softball records. “It was great to watch Cara’s incredible defensive and powerful offensive performances. There is no doubt the highlight of the season was our State Tournament game against Soap Lake,” Harris said. “Renae hit a two-run home run to get us back in the game and Cara hit the game-winning double in extra innings. They were incredible players to watch.”
