Town hall meeting tonight to discuss Critical Areas Ordinance

The Orcas Eagle Forum will host a followup town hall meeting on Oct. 6 at the Orcas fire hall from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The Orcas Eagle Forum will host a followup town hall meeting on Oct. 6 at the Orcas fire hall from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

“We hope to have a moderated event which will be more informational, than confrontational,” organizers say. “We are all on the same team and need to grasp the points of views which will affect all of us. The feedback for the Council Members and Planning Commission is essential for the process, and the facts and misconceptions of the review and update of the CAO need to be processed by the public.”

The Eagle Forum has invited county council members Richard Fralick and Patty Miller, Tim Blanchard and John Evans from the Common Sense Alliance, Richard Civille with online mapping data expertise, and three Orcas Planning Commission Members.

Attendees will hear panel responses to both pre-written and live questions from attendees. Eagle Forum representatives said roughly 100 people attended the last town hall meeting hosted by the forum to discuss Critical Areas Ordinance.
