Orcas alternative learning program approves Winthrop school

The Orcas Schools' Alternative Learning Experience program recently approved Methow Valley Community School based in Winthrop, Washington, as a community-based facility, reports the Methow Valley News. The Orcas Schools’ Alternative Learning Experience program recently approved Methow Valley Community School based in Winthrop, Washington, as a community-based facility, reports the Methow Valley News.

The partnership allows the community school to offer alternative education through Orcas Schools. Forty-three of the school’s 57 students have joined the Orcas ALE program. Each full-time enrolled student will receive the state allotment of $1,800 from the Orcas District for the school year ($180 per month) to put towards their education, according to the story.
