The San Juan County Sheriff's office has released the sketch of a man suspected of rape on Orcas Island.

The San Juan County Sheriff’s office has released the sketch of a man suspected of rape on Orcas Island.

According to a press release issued by the sheriff’s office, on Dec. 17, a 31-year-old off-island woman was visiting the Doe Bay area when she was assaulted and raped by an unknown perpetrator. The man immediately fled after the assault in an unseen vehicle.

The suspect is described as caucasian, in his mid 40s, with an olive complexion, dark hair slightly over his ears, and dark eyes. He is approximately 5’8” tall, between 160-180 lbs., with a pot belly. He is also described as stocky and very hairy.

A police report of the incident has not been released.
