The death of David Bowie in January of this year affected many people; none more than the owner of the Orcas Wild museum, Bowie Brando.

“I’ve decided to turn the focus of the museum from whales to David Bowie,” said Brando. “He was just that important to Orcas and you can look at videos of whales on YouTube at any time.”

The museum will feature never-before-seen photographs of Bowie; behind the scenes videos from his movies; outfits from his many tours; unreleased songs; and a chewed piece of bubblegum.

“It’s all just so special, all of it,” said Brando. “I’ve spent years collecting all of this memorabilia and just feel it needs to be shared with the world.”

Brando isn’t alone in his new venture, however, as the Islands’ Flounder is proud to express its support and contributions to the new museum.

“There was never before, and will never again be, another performer quite as magnificent as the great Starman,” said Flounder editor Coolaid Armstrange, who has donated much of her personal Bowie collection to the museum. “But I kept the white suit.”

Conversion of the museum from marine life to Bowie will begin on April 1. The whale skull will have a lightning bolt painted across it, just as Bowie had during his time as Aladdin Sane.

“This really should bring audiences from all around the world,” said Brando, barely able to contain his excitement. “It will be the best David Bowie museum ever.”
