Orcas Island Health Care District hires Tom Eversole as interim superintendent

by Art Lange

On behalf of the Orcas Island Health Care District (OIHCD), I am pleased to announce that Tom Eversole will become the interim Superintendent of OIHCD as of January 1, 2022. Tom has multiple graduate degrees and has had extensive leadership experience in rural healthcare and public health. He has also held administrative and teaching positions at Oregon State University. He has worked in a leadership position for the Orcas Senior Center and was an active member of the coalition that brought the Orcas Island Health Care District into existence.

Anne Presson, the District’s current Superintendent, has chosen to move on to other opportunities. Anne has served the District since its inception with exceptional dedication and competence. She has been a leader in our efforts to ensure that all the members of our community have access to high-quality primary and acute care including after-hours care in a financially sustainable and cost-effective manner. The OIHCD Board thanks Anne for her all she has done these past three and a half years. Anne has graciously offered to assist Tom in his transition into the Superintendent position.

We look forward to working with Tom as we continue to pursue our goal of ensuring that all the members of our community have access to high-quality primary and acute care including after-hours acute care in a financially sustainable and cost-effective manner. We will be creating opportunities for the members of our community to meet Tom in 2022.
