Fire Districts from the entire county will be gathering to discuss the future of the Fire Marshal’s office.

On Sept. 30, the fire commissions from districts 2, 3, 4 and 5 will meet aboard the inter-island ferry. The boat departs San Juan at 2:15, Orcas at 3:05, Shaw at 3:20, and Lopez at 3:40. The meeting will run from 3:45 to 5:15.

The meeting will discuss the role of the Fire Marshal county-wide as well as the cost-effectiveness of that role as it functions on Orcas Island.

This is a special meeting of the OIFC commissioners and the public is invited to attend.
