Orcas Island Fire and Rescue is committed to safely transporting patients to the most appropriate care facility by the most suitable transportation mode. We recognize there is confusion regarding the services of Airlift Northwest and Island Air Ambulance. OIFR always has and always will make medical transportation decisions based on your immediate medical needs with the goal to gain the best outcome.
To address this issue, Orcas Island Fire and Rescue will host a community forum on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 5:30 p.m., at the Headquarters Fire Station in Eastsound to provide you with accurate information regarding EMS transport while listening to your concerns.
