Maggie Kaplan, Eastsound mask maker whose masks have made money for the Orcas Senior Center, has reached $7,400 in sales and donations.

“I’m just over the moon,” offered Kaplan on her face coverings success. “People have been so generous, and the center is truly grateful.”

Kaplan and neighbor Sherri Schiff have been making masks and hanging them in Kaplan’s carport for passersby to enjoy and purchase. They are also for sale at Orcas Arts and Gifts on Main Street in Eastsound. All proceeds from the sale support the island’s senior center.
