The Orcas Island Garden Club welcomes Dan Heims, president of Terra Nova Nurseries, freelance writer and worldwide speaker, on Wednesday, April 17, at 10 a.m., Orcas Center.

Heims will offer a talk called “Container Crazy and Plants for Small Gardens.” His trips around the world have exposed him to an amazing array of wild containers planted with many unusual plants. Heims will discuss these plus talk about a wide assortment of unusual plant materials that give new life to containers. Tips on how to design containers and small garden spaces as well as helpful information on maintaining soil fertility and plant health will be presented.

After the presentation, visitors are encouraged to stop by the membership table and become a member of the garden club. All attendees may socialize, share gardening information and advice, and enjoy treats in the social hour following the meeting.
