Rock on the Rock choir is back | Local artists asked to submit work

by Jake Perrine and Grace McCune

The time has come and the magic is brewing for another Rock on the Rock production! From the producers of Moulin Rouge, Across the Universe, Rock of Orcas, This Is Me, Teatro Titikookoo, and Cirque Us, Jake Perrine and Grace McCune are reaching out to the Orcas Island Community for original song compositions from local musicians to be part of their next show which will be presented in May 2023 at Orcas Center!

The next show is going to address themes and events of the past few years since the pandemic started, as well as finding the joy of coming back to a sense of normalcy. As such, we are looking for a wide range of original, local music to be included in the array of songs we are choosing from. Ideal songs are something you’ve written in the past few years about any topic that moved you, 2-5 minutes in length. A rough demo recording of the song is fine (a phone recording even) as we will be recreating it live on stage. If your song is chosen for the next ROTR production, your song will be arranged into a choral piece by us, sung as a solo or backed by a full band.

To submit a song, please send an MP3 of your song to rotrchoir@gmail.com along with the title, composer, and lyrics. The deadline for submissions is Nov. 30, 2022.
