Resistance is Futile, Orcas Island

Orcas artist Martin Taylor has a show of new work at Orcas Center running through April. An opening reception will on Friday, April 3 at 5:30 p.m.

The show is entitled “Resistance is Futile.” It features art pieces where the primary artist’s tool is the computer. The images are either completely algorithmically generated or heavily processed in ways only possible with a computer.

The show presents some completely new and different work by Taylor. Everything has been conceived and executed within the month before the show opens. Up until the beginning of March, Taylor had planned on a completely different concept. The public will have to wait a while for his show of “luscious nudes.”

The show features six large canvases that include three kinds of computer-centric art. The pieces in the show are all unique and are never to be reproduced.
