Calling all local artists to join longtime Orcas artist Marcia Spees in the September art exhibit at Orcas Center.

Intake for all art is Wednesday, Sept. 4, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. An opening reception will be held Friday, Sept. 6, 5:30 to 7 p.m. Spees, who is know for her exquisite watercolor paintings, has recently pushed the bounds of her creative expression with a breakthrough exploration of abstraction, thus the name of her upcoming show “Driven to Abstraction.” It will be exciting to see her new paintings and to hear, from her, about her creative transition.

Her work will fill the lobby at Orcas Center and the Madrona Room will feature Orcas community art. All local artists are invited to display their work, all mediums, shapes and sizes, for sale or not.
