The Oddfellows Hall welcomes you to the upcoming Family Dance, an all-ages extravaganza featuring dance music from ABBA to Stevie Wonder. We invite the community to join us on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 7-10 p.m. for an evening of tunes, games, snacks and fun. Bring the whole family; there’s something for everyone!

Local DJs and family duo Bruce Pavitt and Parker Pavitt are excited to share an eclectic mix of their personal favorites during this shared set. Bruce is the founder of Seattle’s Sub Pop, the record label that first discovered Nirvana, Soundgarden and Mudhoney. From his role in shaping the Seattle sound of the ’90s, he brings a similar approach to curating a killer setlist. Parker is a former DJ at college station WMHC 91.3 where they hosted a history-themed show broadcasting a diverse range of songs from the archives of recorded music.

“Parker and I originally teamed up to DJ local benefits twenty years ago, and I’m stoked we’re back, ” says Bruce. “Family dances are always fun– kids give adults permission to be whimsical.”

He took Parker to their first live concert as a baby, and the two have been sharing music together ever since. “We have so many great family memories with music. I still remember the first CD I ever had was a gift from my dad, the Go-Go’s Beauty and the Beat,” says Parker. “And now I get to share one of my favorite songs from that album at the Family Dance. It feels like a celebration.”
