The Indian Island Marine Health Observatory will give its second annual report to the community on Friday, Nov. 18 at the Madrona Room of the Orcas Center from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

“This year’s presentation by the ever-entertaining and fascinating Russel [Barsh] promises to be tight and crisp, with all sorts of interesting and thought-provoking results of our research this year,” said organizer Marcia Spees.

Displays will include inter-active phytoplankton microscopes, an invertebrates aquarium, general information and literature, marine plastics, Eastsound wetlands bioremediation info, and a fish-collage craft table “for kids and the young at heart.”

Music will be provided by Michael Hurwicz, and food by the Orcas Village Store.

The event is free to the community, and will include testimonials, a slideshow, and new this year, Master of Ceremonies Sheldon Gregory.
