Read Across America Day celebrated at Orcas Elementary

Read Across America Day was celebrated on Friday, May 2, at Orcas Island Elementary School at 8:45 a.m.
Students participated in a choral reading of a lost Seuss book by Mrs. Stolmeier’s third graders, teachers performed a Readers’ Theater, first grade students were honored for exiting “Reading Recovery,” there was an all school sing with Mrs. Wright and classrooms that have met their February reading goals had their teacher draw a book character name out of “Cat in the Hat’s” hat. They will come dressed as that character on a special book day in March.
