Thanks to the generosity of Orcas residents and supporters, the Orcas Community Resource Center is celebrating the successful completion of its September fundraising match campaign, which raised a total of $65,000 to support vital community services. Throughout September, community donations were matched dollar-for-dollar through the generous support of Island Market, Ray’s Pharmacy and Island Life. The match goal was met and exceeded due to the overwhelming response from community members.
This September fundraising match has become an important annual tradition that highlights the community’s commitment to ensuring all island residents have access to necessary resources and support.
“Our partnership with Island Market, Ray’s Pharmacy, and Island Life–along with the generosity of so many community donors–truly shows what we can accomplish together,” said Erin O’Dell, executive director of the Resource Center. “Every gift, large or small, played a part in making this achievement possible.”
These funds will directly support the Resource Center’s mission of fostering a healthy community by connecting Orcas Islanders with services to thrive and achieve equitable well-being. Every day, the Resource Center provides essential safety net services for island residents, including housing support, food access programs, transportation assistance, financial literacy education and more. All services are available in Spanish as well to meet the needs of our diverse community. For more information, visit orcascrc.org.
