The Orcas Open Arts Board would like to thank the many supporters who made last Sunday’s “Second Annual Holiday Crafts Time” such a great success. Over 55 children and parents gathered to make holiday gifts from felted wool, wood, paper and lots of creativity and love.
The Orcas School cafeteria was buzzing with activity and everyone was sorry when our time was up. Special thanks to the many volunteers who helped children (and grown-ups!) make lavender sachets, picture frames (complete with photos of the kids), ornaments, and block printed gift bags: Mariah and Michael Armenia, Bill and Madison Pollack, Marguerite, Birdie and Axel Greening, Mary Jane Elgin, Jackie Kempfer, Flora Lister, Enid Blanc, Ellen Wherette, Emma and Maya Heikkinen, Lily Sky, Sadie Bailey, and Phoebe and Cassia Hershenow. Also great gratitude to Joe Ciscowski for wood blocks and Lyn Perry for being our school district representative.
Orcas Open Arts is committed to bringing art and artists to the Orcas Schools and the children of Orcas Island. We are entirely dependent on donations from parents, grandparents, friends and community members and gratefully accept tax-deductible donations to Orcas Open Arts, P.O. Box 1843, Eastsound, WA 98245.
Thanks again to this generous community and its commitment to the arts.
