Give Orcas 2017 achieves full funding

The following was submitted by the Orcas Island Community Foundation.

For the very first time every proposal submitted to the Give Orcas Grant Catalog will be fully funded.

The Orcas Island Community Foundation is grateful to all who contributed to this year’s successful campaign. OICF has approximately $50,000 in discretionary funds (from the Community Endowment distribution) annually and typically receives $250,000 in grant requests. OICF invites all of Orcas to participate as Partners in Philanthropy, donating $10 and up. This year, 262 friends and neighbors joined in with OICF’s discretionary dollars and funded every vetted proposal. Fantastic support for the entire community!

These grants will support a broad range of programs serving the Orcas community including the Food Bank, Animal Protection Society, OPAL Community Land Trust, Orcas Community Resource center, the schools and many more. Over $225,000 will be distributed on Thursday, May 25th at the Annual Grant Awards Celebration, 3-5 pm at the Orcas Center. The community is welcome to attend and learn more about the Give Orcas campaign and the great programs that are receiving support.
