Darvill’s Bookstore and The Funhouse promote literacy for kids

Thanks to Darvill’s Bookstore and generous community supporters, The Funhouse is creating a library for their Afterschool children age 7-12 to promote literacy and spark the joy of reading.

One of the best ways to inspire a habit of reading is by providing books for children. For the next three months, this special collaboration between Darvill’s Bookstore, islanders, and The Funhouse will do just that!

Darvill’s has set up a display of carefully selected, age-appropriate books that will entertain, inform, and provide opportunities for Funhouse kids to enjoy a wide variety of genres and stories. Islanders are invited to support The Funhouse library by sponsoring one (or more!) of the books on display. In honor of your contribution, a bookplate with your name will be placed inside the front cover of the books you select.
