Activist art show

There are many ways to demonstrate the need for change or the impact of changes in our ourselves, our country and the world. A significant way is through the arts. The arts can reach our hearts first and then our minds: stimulating ideas, discussions and actions.

On Saturday, April 15 from 5:30 to 8 p.m., begins the opening of a political art show by 20 art activists that will run three weekends, on Saturdays and Sundays, until April 30 at S O U L (344 Prune Alley, between the Kayak shop and the frame shop in the old Sears building).

The art show is titled, “CHANGE – the good, the bad, the unexpected.” Artists exhibiting their work, visually and through sound and video are giving an insight into how current political changes can and have impacted themselves and the world.

The public is invited to attend the opening, talk with people about the art, fill in postcards to congressmen, sign ordinances and petitions and learn more about actions that are happening around our county and state.

If you would like to include your information about the stands you are supporting, drop off written information on April 12, between 12 and 5:30 p.m.
