I want to express my extreme gratitude for the work of the staff and volunteer team of Orcas Fire and Rescue. On Christmas Eve I got the call that no one ever wants to get, “the garage and car next to it are burning!” By the time I arrived (in just a few minutes) an amazing team of 20+ people were already taking care of every aspect of the situation. They were dealing professionally and efficiently with the fire, but also the care and sensitivity that the staff showed in dealing with me and my renter was so appreciated. It allowed me to take a deep breath. And although we lost a lot, the house was saved. We are lucky to have such a dedicated team here on the island.
