Community in harmony

The board of Music Advocacy Group (MAG) is filled with gratitude for the outpouring of support for Orcas Island public school music. We want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who attended, performed in, volunteered for, or otherwise participated in the MAG Benefit Concert on Sunday, March 3, 2024!

Thank you to the incredible musicians who delighted a nearly full house with outstanding musical performances: Orcatrazz Swing Band, JP & the OK Rhythm Boys, Orcas Choral Society Ensemble, and the teachers and student musicians of Orcas Island School District.

Thank you to all the volunteers who coordinated performances, baked sweet and savory treats, set up and cleaned up, and helped make the concert a resounding success.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the concert, either in person or online. And thank you to all those who were unable to attend but continue to support MAG’s mission through donations. All concert proceeds will be used to support Orcas Island’s public school music program.

The MAG Benefit Concert is not only a fundraiser for school music; it is an occasion to gather in community, in harmony. March is Music in Our Schools Month® when we are reminded of the value of music education. School music matters!
