The Vikings, down 2-0 and with their backs right up against the wall, rallied to take three straight games on the Wolverines home floor and to clinch a victory in the Northwest 1A/2B League showdown between inter-island rivals, as Friday Harbor failed to land the knockout punch in a dramatic, epic, five-game marathon on Sept. 27.

The Wolverines beat the Vikings girls’ soccer team, 4-0, that same day. The first 20 minutes featured quality, even play from both teams. Wolverine Emily Guard took a pass just past midfield and slotted the ball past the Vikings’ keeper. The Wolverines finished 2-0 at half time. The second half featured more of the same with another pair of goals: one by Guard and one by Teagan Serna.
