Vikings earn league awards

Seven Vikings basketball players and Coach Corey Wiscomb earned honors from the Northwest Athletics’ 1A/2B league at its All-League awards on Tuesday, March 7 in La Conner.

In a unanimous vote, Vanya Bullock was awarded the league’s most valuable player award.

“He was consistent all season long, especially against the tougher competition, and lead our team in scoring (19.9 points per game). He was also one of our best rebounders, and had a large percentage of our steals on defense,” said Viking boys basketball coach Wiscomb. “Vanya works hard in everything he does, on and off the floor. He is a great young man, a fantastic example to his teammates, and he deserves every bit of this award.”

Senior Jordan Randolph was voted the First-Team All-League Point Guard position for leading the Viking offense to their league title and district championship. Senior Cyrus Amour was also voted to First-Team All-League for consistently high-level play. Seniors Aidan Kruse and Miles Harlow were both voted Second-Team All-League awards and Wiscomb was voted NW1A2B coach of the year.

Junior Katelyn Minnis was awarded First Team All-League Honors and senior Bethany Hansen earned an honorable mention.
