Softball: a fearless future

by Coach Brooke Bruland-Taylor

This is my first year as head coach. I’m honored to coach these girls on their path to success. I have had the privilege of coaching the majority of these student-athletes since sixth grade.

As we have no seniors on the roster, we will have juniors leading the way. The sophomores, freshmen and eighth-graders will be able to contribute to the program as well. We are excited to create a new culture and see the girls reach their goals and full potential.

I welcome a full coaching staff along my side. Kassy Bruland-Taylor is the assistant. A graduate from Concrete High School, she will bring experience as an all-state catcher who helped her team win state in 2007. Volunteer assistants Emily Wooding and Adria Garcia are 2011 graduates of OIHS — as am I.

All four of us have participated in state all four years of high school and have played at the collegiate level. Emily will help the girls bring speed to the base path and Adria will bring technique to our pitchers. We are excited to bring our passion and work ethic back to the girls. The girls are right on track to have a fun and successful season!

We would love your support! Come out and watch a game!
