The Lady Vikings lost a home game Oct. 6 to the Shoreline Christian Crusaders 3-1.

The Vikings started unfocused, according to the Viking Coaches Gregg Sasan and Hank Date, slipping 7-1 in the first game. Strong serving by Alicia Susol helped the Vikings battle back and eventually take the lead 23-21, but three straight unforced errors by Orcas crippled the Viking comeback, losing the first game 26-24. Resilient, the Lady Vikings dominated and crushed the Crusaders in the second game 25-12. But Orcas focus waned in game three, losing 25-17.

Pivotal game four was a roller coaster ride with the Vikings starting strong, but unforced errors reappeared and eroded the momentum. Fighting to the end, Mykal Keyes held off match point for four straight do-or-die serves, but the Crusaders prevailed 25-22.
