The 10-13 year-old Orcas Island Majors, Team A, took home their league championship title on June 11.

Team A headed into the Friday Harbor league tournament with a season record of 9-1. The tournament was single elimination.

Team A soundly defeated Friday Harbor Green 17-7, then blazed on to wallop Friday Harbor Blue 16-4.

Then the team faced off for the final championship game against the Friday Harbor Gold Team, the only team to beat them this season.

“We pitched a shutout and won with a score of 14-0,” said mom Amy Masters. “This is the second league title for Orcas and our boys played an outstanding season.”

Team members are pitcher and short stop Miles Harlow; pitcher, catcher and short stop Pasha Bullock; pitcher, catcher and second base Vanya Bullock; catcher and first baseman Kyle Masters; second baseman Grayson White, center fielder Steven Bodenhamer; third baseman Joey Susol; right fielder Kai McGregor; right fielder Leif Gustafson; and left fielder Garrett Ballinger. Mike Hedington served as head coach and Ian Harlow as the assistant coach.
