It was cold and windy, and we had our difficulties out on the course. The girls lost to the Friday Harbor girls 263-236 and the boys’ match was a “no contest” because Friday Harbor has only two boys on its team. It was great experience for the new players on our team.

The excitement was seeing Courtney Ray, Miles McCloskey and Devon Stanzione all shoot qualifying scores for districts. Devon is a first-year players, Miles is a returning state player and Courtney Ray is playing pretty darn good.

The other players just missed qualifying and know what they need to work on. It is very early, and we are still ‘getting the kinks out’, and once we get warmed up I expect them all to do very well and be competitive. It is a long season this year, as we have the full amount of 12 matches. There is plenty of time to get ready for the post season. Hard work and concentration are key to doing well in this game.
