April Hofmann again led the defense with 11 rebounds and two blocks, followed by fellow post player Brooke Bruland with seven rebounds, Kathryn Tidwell and Bella Nigretto with six each, and Makenna Thomas and Alena Janssen with five. Nigretto swiped four steals; Bruland and Halley McCormick each had two. Scoring was well distributed: Nigretto scored eight points, Hofmann seven, Shelbi Rogers six, Tidwell five, Ashley Janssen three, Alenna Janssen two and Bruland one.

The Vikings lost their first playoff game (63-38) on Feb. 12 against Bear Creek, the undefeated, top-ranked team in the SeaTac league. They played their second playoff game on Tuesday, Feb. 15 against Crosspoint, after the Sounder went to press. The playoffs work on a double elimination system, so if the team wins they will go on to a third playoff game on Friday, Feb. 18.

“Crosspoint lost to Mount Vernon Christian in the first round, so we should be very competitive with them,” said athletic director Sandi Harris.

“I am VERY proud of each and everyone of of you,” wrote coach Mike Lawson to the team on its Facebook page. “You have all stepped up to this challenge, and are doing great! It is a pleasure to be your coach! By the way, I think we can beat the team on Tuesday if we play OUR game and control the ball! Go Lady Vikes!”
