OIHS Cross Country runners perform well at King’ Cross Invitational

The Orcas Island High School cross country runners traveled down to just north of Seattle to compete in the King’s Cross Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 28. The 3-mile races were run on a two-loop trail course over varying terrain with many twists and turns.

The overall performance of the team was probably the best so far this season. Senior runner Jaydon Krisch placed fifth in a field of 40 runners from six other high schools in the varsity race with a time of 17:34 while 8th grader Evan Kulper placed ninth in a field of 81 runners from nine high schools in the junior varsity race with a time of 20:20. According to the coach, the team as a whole put in a really strong effort on Saturday.
