The Orcas Christian School Saints flag football team traveled to Vancouver, Canada in late April to compete with 15 other teams for the flag football championships.

The Saints came home victorious as they defeated the Frasier Valley Royals 27-20.

The Saints led by one extra point most of the game but the Royals were driving with just minutes left in the fourth quarter when cornerback Joey Fowler intercepted the Royals QB. The Saints drive stalled though and the Royals were able to drive the ball to the Saints three-yard line with a first down. The Saints held and with two seconds left on the clock Fowler deflected a pass to the end zone where Michael Harris and Cyrus Amour knocked it down and just out of the grasp of a Royals player.

The Saints’ next home game is May 9 against Cornerstone. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m.
