The Orcas High School Sailing Team, the Orcas Island Yacht Club and Sail Orcas are co-hosting the Northwest Interscholastic Sailing Associations District Fleet Championships April 29 and 30 on West Sound.

Forty teams from around the Northwest will be competing in the two-day regatta.

“This is a regional championship with teams traveling from as far south as Newport Oregon,” said regatta chair Burke Thomas. ‘The winning team will advance to high school sailings national championship, the Mallory Trophy May 12-14 at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.”

Racing will take place from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 – 2 a.m. on Sunday, so stop on by OIYC to see the action.
