Start your sports weekend off early by joining the Orcas Vikings and the Orcas Island Booster Club for “Viking Blue Friday.”

The event will be dedicated to celebrating and honoring the community and everything they do to support athletics at Orcas Middle and High School.

Fridays games will feature the Vikings v. Concrete as both teams battle for a spot in the district playoffs. Events tip off at 2 p.m. with the Viking boys’ team at 3:30 p.m. and the Lady Vikings and the next generation of JV players hitting the court at 5 p.m.

Friday’s game will also feature an encore performance of the National Anthem by Almost Classical as well as a special half-time performance at the first game.

“Even if you’re not a basketball fan, a chance to see these amazing artists perform is well worth the price of admission,” say organizers. “Put on your blue and come join us as we celebrate Viking pride!”
