Orcas Island Pickleball Club is pleased to announce the eighth Annual Orcas Island Pickleball Tournament will take place Saturday, Aug. 2, and Sunday, Aug. 3. Saturday will feature mixed doubles play, and Sunday will feature men’s and women’s doubles. Tournament brackets include recreational, intermediate and advanced divisions. The Club will provide a BBQ experience on Saturday afternoon for players and spectators alike.
Registration is now open at orcaspickleball.org. The cost is $50 for the first event you enter and, for an additional $30, you can compete both days. OIPC club members will receive a $10 discount on registration (only one $10 discount, no matter how many events). Select your bracket based on the rating of the stronger members of your doubles teams (final bracket placement will be subject to tournament organizers).
50% of tournament proceeds benefit local nonprofit organizations; this year OIPC has selected Mercy Flights and Orcas Island Park and Rec. It’s a weekend of fun, competitive play and support for our Orcas community.
Thanks to our tournament sponsors:
Co-sponsors: Chicory Wealth, Inter Island Petroleum.
Sponsors: Linda Hamilton, Ray’s Pharmacy, The Dragonfly Coffee House, WaFd.
Supporters: Island Hardware, Bob McPherson, Orcas Island Realty, Orcas Online, Rainshadow Solar, Savi Bank, Security National Mortgage, Greg and Marguerite Stafford.
In-kind sponsors: Jem Morris, Napa Auto Parts, Old Goat Creative, Orcas Sporting Goods.
Sponsorships are still available. In addition to cash sponsorship, we are also looking for donations of local goods and services for our raffle during the tournament.
Register at orcaspickleball.org. If competing is not your thing, please come out and watch — it’s a fun environment for all. We are also looking for tournament volunteers. As is the island tradition, “many hands make light work!”
Membership in the Orcas Island Pickleball Club is open to all and provides benefits such as access to court equipment, special player and social events, and reduced fees for some tournaments and clinics. The OIPC is a charitable 501(c)(3) organization that advocates for pickleball players and provides a liaison with the Orcas Island Parks and Recreation District, who own the public courts. . Become a member of OIPC — a great value at $49 per year — at orcaspickleball.org.
