Shakespeare Fest is coming | Letter

The Fifth Annual Orcas Island Shakespeare Festival is coming up March 30-April 2 and we’re looking to put as much of our local talent on stage as possible!

The wonderful folks at Random Howse have again offered to host several events.  This year we are planning a pot luck feast, a music night, a local theatrical night and possibly a mixed night including Shakespearean improv with Unexpected Productions from Seattle.  Our artistic director, Robert Hall, is also planning to have some acts appear at other venues prior to the Saturday evening performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Those of us who have participated the last three years have had a GREAT time. The Chamber of Commerce sponsored event will include a dance party for all the participants after the show on Friday evening.

For anyone interested who isn’t sure what to present, we can help with suggestions, direction, staging, costuming – whatever you need to let your Shakespeare light shine.  Michael Armenia (marmenia@aemarts.com) and I will be coordinating these local talent productions, so let either of us know as soon as possible that you want to participate.   Please respond as soon as possible (not later than March 1) so that we may be sure to get you onstage.   If you are willing to help in other ways, we have lots of opportunities for you as well, so please let us know of your interest.
