William “Bill” LaPorte, 53, of Eastsound, Wash., passed away at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Wash. on Wednesday, June 25. He was born on May 30, 1961, the son of Wilfred and Myrna (Spicklemier) LaPorte.

He grew up and spent most of his life on Orcas Island and could never be talked into moving to the mainland as his sisters wanted him to.

Bill enjoyed outdoor activities such as gardening, walking and fishing. He did not have any children of his own but loved and spoiled his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
