Roy Alfred Blay

Roy Alfred Blay was born Jan 27, 1928 in London, England within the sound of Bow Bells, as he liked to say. He passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Friday morning July 17, 2009.

He lived through the Blitz in London during World War II, became an aeronautical engineer and then worked for de Havilland Aircraft, where we flew on the prototype of the famous Beaver airplane. He then came to the United States, becoming a writer and editor, working for Lockheed-California Company for 35 years and producing the accredited magazine “Lockheed Horizons.” He retired to beautiful Orcas Island in 1991.

He is survived by his loving wife Pat of 48 years, his children, twins Kim and Chris, Chris’ wife Della, his grandchildren Ryan and Eric, son John and his wife Antoinette and grandchildren William and Julia. He was a loving husband and father and will be missed by many relatives and friends all over the world.
