Robert ‘Bob’ Raymond Wyatt | Passages

May 2, 1937 – September 18, 2025

Robert “Bob” Raymond Wyatt, of Eastsound, WA, passed away September 18, 2025. He was 88.

Bob was born May 2, 1937, in Rogers, Arkansas. President of his high school class, he worked his way through college by playing trumpet in a jazz band while taking care of his Mother, graduating with an Electrical Engineering degree.

Bob worked over 30 years with ATT in the Middle East, London and Amsterdam. His expertise was integral to the successful signing of the TEP-6 Project with Saudi Arabia, then the largest telecommunication contract in history, recognized as the most extensive anywhere in the world.

Bob met his first love, Peggy Perkins, at Western Electric in Winston-Salem, NC. They married in 1966 and had a daughter, Stephanie. The family lived in Greensboro until they retired to Caswell Beach, NC in 1997.

Bob met his second love, Carol Owens, in Oak Island, NC in 2005 when they were both grieving the loss of their partners. His friendship helped Carol survive the death of her first husband, though they often said they saved each other. They became best friends, traveling the world together.

On their first trip to the Pacific Northwest they visited Orcas Island, becoming residents in 2010. They married in 2020, fifteen years after they met. Carol counts herself exceptionally fortunate to have had the love of two stellar men; is deeply grateful for Bob’s care over the past several years.

Bob is survived by his wife, Carol Ann Owens-Wyatt; his daughter, Stephanie Wyatt Leo (Scott) of Charlotte, NC; and granddaughters, Hannah Claire Leo of Charlotte, NC, Katherine Elizabeth Leo of Arlington, VA and Margaret Sarah Leo of Raleigh, NC. Bob will be deeply missed by his family and countless friends.

A celebration of Bob’s incredible life will take place sometime in the fall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to: Swedish Center for Healthy Aging, 1600 East Jefferson St, Suite 115, Seattle, WA.
