November 30, 1952 – February 6, 2025

Mark Gregory Meln was born to Beverly and Sam Meln on November 30, 1952 in Seattle, Washington. He died peacefully on February 6, 2025 on Orcas Island, his mother by his side.

Mark loved the outdoors, hockey, and working with his hands. He always made himself available for handyman projects and took great joy in helping his friends, his family, and members of his communities on Orcas Island, in Innis Arden (Shoreline), and the City of Hunters, Washington. Mark served in the Army for several years in the 1970’s. Following his military service, he worked and played in Alaska for 10 years, Hawaii for 10 years, then came back to his beloved Pacific Northwest. After recovering from a serious bicycle accident in 2013, he refocused his time helping his mother care for their family home in Shoreline.

Mark leaves behind his mom, Beverly; a sister and brother-in-law, Paula and Mark; niece, Alexandra; cousins Steve, Bill, Paul, and Teresa and their families; and countless friends and chosen family members.

Mark will be missed for his warm smile, helpful nature, and gentle soul.
