Lesle Eastman | Passages

May 1, 1977 – October 28, 2025

A bright light has burned out. Lesle Stailey Eastman, born May 1, 1977 died October 28, 2025 of a brain aneurysm in Gila, NM. Lesle was born in Monticello, Utah to Lester B. Stailey and Carolyn Carroll. She grew up and attended school in Cliff, NM where she played basketball and created a group of lifelong friends.

Lesle married Ed Eastman Jr of Orcas Island, WA and lived there for 15 years or so. She was a great cook. Famous for her homemade spaghetti sauce and huge creative salads and Mexican foods that were enjoyed by many. Lesle had many parties at her homes at Cliff and in Eastsound, celebrating each birthday of her children.

She was a cleaning whiz from a very early age and owned and operated her own cleaning business with 6 employees on Orcas Island.

Lesle liked to take evening walks along the beach with her children. She was a people person and never met a stranger she didn’t like. All her life she wanted to be around other people. The friends she made in high school remained a tight group all through these years. Ahh, she lived to hang out with people and laugh and laugh. She had such a funny sense of humor.

Leslie’s heart and home were always open to any stray dog, cat, rabbits, bird and person.

Lesle leaves behind three children. Daughter Omri Stailey Barentine of NY, sons Aiden Eastman and Izaak Eastman of Big Lake, WA. She is also survived by mother Carolyn Carroll of Eastsound, WA, sister Judy Tye Wilson of NY, brothers James Tye of Utah, Joshua Tye of Eastsound, WA, and Shiloh Stailey of Morenci, AZ. Lesle was preceded in death by her father Lester B. Stailey and brother John W. Tye.

Celebrations of her life will be held at Gila, NM and Eastsound, WA at a later date to be announced.
