Harold Robert Miller | Passages

November 19, 1924 – March 9, 2024

Harold Robert (Bob) Miller was born November 19, 1924, in Quincy, IL. to William and Ruth Clair Miller. He was one of 12 children and grew up in the Detroit, MI area. He passed on March 9th 2024, in Las Vegas, NV. His 99 years were full and he enjoyed all of them.

His first daughter Barbara Kafton passed in 2018, and daughter Terry Reynolds passed in 2016. Son Robert W. Miller resides in Pacifica, CA.

Bob has 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

Bob was a machinist by trade, He early on wanted his own business, and made it happen. His own company was located in Costa Mesa, CA. He produced product for the aerospace industry as well as custom work for independent companies. He retired in 1990 and decided he wanted to live in Las Vegas. He continued to be connected to his company until 1997.

Wife Elsie passed in 1994 after a long history of health issues.

Bob married Harriet. During their 29 years of marriage, they enjoyed traveling, and boating in the Northwest with family and friends in the Orcas Island Yacht Club. Bob loved to fish, and trips to Canada for Salmon, and fishing in Cascade Lake for trout were great times shared with brothers and friends. Bob was a member of the Orcas Island Community Church and felt the love and fellowship of the friends there.

Bob liked company, and welcomed visitors to our homes wherever he was. He would often say good bye to guests, adding “you are welcome back anytime” and he meant it.

He was a good sport, open to adventure, willing to try just about anything. He was loved by his family and will be missed forever but not forgotten.

A celebration of life will be on Orcas Island, WA in the late summer.
