David Meeker Fisher, Jr. | Passages

David Meeker Fisher Jr. was born in the sawmill town of Snoqualmie Falls, Washington, on June 28, 1924, the son of David M. And Sarah Dorothy Jones Fisher. He died on Nov. 14, 2023.

His wife Irene Sina Brudie Fisher preceded him in death on June 8, 2019. His sister Sally F. Sellars died at 101 years in 2022. He is survived by his sons David B., grandson Alek, Erik W. (wife Nowell King), Peter C. Fisher and his second grandson, Will Aaron.

After graduating from Snoqualmie High School in 1942, his military service was in the 10th Mountain Division and the paratroops, followed by graduation in 1949 from Yale University. David’s working career was mostly with Weyerhaeuser Company in both domestic and foreign assignments including Canada, Japan, Indonesia, and Belgium. He retired in early 1986 as President of Weyerhaeuser’s subsidiary Westwood Shipping Lines. His final years were spent on Queen Anne in Seattle and later at Grindstone Point on Orcas Island.
