June 2, 1947 – May 18, 2025

Charles W. Clark passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife Michelle and his sons Brady and Garrett.

Charlie was born in Tucson AZ on 6-2-1947. His father, Charles F Clark, was of English and Hispanic descent. His mother, Ana Fidelia Clark, was of Greek and Hispanic descent. Charlie graduated from Palo Verde AZ high school in 1966. He was the school mascot “Charlie Titan.” He continued his education at Northern Arizona University graduating with a degree in Engineering. After being Public Works Director in Hermosa Beach, CA for 12 years, he returned to AZ in 1984 and took over his family’s business “Clark Trucking Co.” Charlie was the first insulin dependent diabetic to compete in Hawaii’s Ironman event, completing four of them. He completed over thirty marathons, numerous 10Ks, and many long-distance biking events.

In 2004 Charlie and Michelle started spending 6 months on Orcas and 6 months in AZ. Charlie embraced his Latino heritage and delighted in sharing his two cultures with the community at St. Francis Catholic Church where he was an active member. Outgoing Charlie made friends easily and will be remembered for his love of music, savoring a good hamburger, flying radio-controlled airplanes, and spending time with his friends who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of life at St. Francis Catholic Church will be on Thursday, Sept. 25 with Mass at 5 p.m. and reception following.
