Join Jill McCabe Johnson and several of this year’s Artsmith Artists in Residence, Saturday, Jan. 9, 3 to 5 p.m. at Orcas Island Library, including writers Yvonne Garrett, Jason Kirk, Jill Kolongowski, Nancy Lord, and Caitlin Scarano, in a conversation exploring how “Place” can present itself in one’s writing. Physical descriptions, dialogue, sensory details, and character names, are just a few of the ways to imply a particular place in the world. Participants are invited to bring a poem or paragraph of their own or someone else’s writing to share as part of the conversation.
