The Orcas Center Theatre Productions staff is putting out a call for monologues about “Pets: Why we live with them and why we don’t.”

Monologues must be written in the first person either as an exterior monologue (observation of what’s happening outside your character) or an internal monologue (thoughts that are going through the character’s head) and can be from a human’s or pet’s perspective.

Submission may be made by email to sparks@orcascenter.org or dropping a hardcopy by the Orcas Center.

A monologue workshop will be offered on May 5 and May 12 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Orcas Center’s Off Center Stage. Participants will look at the differences between essay writing and writing for internal and external monologues.

For enrollment, call Sparks at 376-2281, ext. 2 or email sparks@orcascenter.org. Registration can also be made the night of the first workshop. The cost is $20.
