Vote counting equipment testing on Oct. 27 at 11 a.m.

The Elections Office will begin processing returned ballots for the Nov. 2 General Election on Oct. 21.

A logic and accuracy test for vote counting equipment, which will be used to tally mail-in ballots for the General Election, is scheduled for Oct. 27. The test will take place at 11 a.m. in the Elections Office located at 55 Second Street, Suite A, in Friday Harbor.

A representative of the Secretary of State’s Election Division will be present for the test. The test will be performed to ensure that tabulation hardware and software equipment are compliant with Washington state rules and will accurately count the votes.

All interested members of the public are invited to observe.
